This is a quilted Oxford back-seat hammock for dogs that measures 54 by 58 in (137 by 147 cm) in its full-surround build, with a mesh window across the seat-back panel so you can see him from the driver's seat.
A dog who can see you settles. A dog behind a solid wall of fabric stands up and leans on it for the whole drive.
The mesh window is the reason to pick this one
The upper panel carries a see-through mesh section instead of solid cloth. It faces forward, so he is visible in the mirror and air moves through rather than stopping at the panel.
Four layers, with a rubber sheet on the bottom
A PVC-coated 600D Oxford face, a cotton wadding, a PVC-coated 210D Oxford layer, then a rubber backing sheet against the upholstery. The supplier calls the rubber layer anti-slip; we have not tested that.
It fastens three ways
Webbing loops with orange tabs go over the headrests, plastic side-release buckles clip the flaps under the seat back, and moulded seat anchors push into the crease. Hook-and-loop slits let the belt buckles through.
The middle unzips so a person can sit
A zip runs across the bench section. Open it and fold one half back and the seat underneath is free.
Twenty-two builds off one pattern
They differ by trim colour (plain black or orange piping), by whether the sides wrap fully or stay thin, by zip layout, by pocket or mesh pocket, by print (plain, small paw, small bone), and by floor support: two builds add a stiffened base, one with three panels and one with eight.
What size is it?
The full-surround build is printed at 54 by 58 in (137 by 147 cm), with a 17.7 in (45 cm) seat-back panel, 17.7 in (45 cm) side flaps and a 22.4 in (57 cm) front skirt. The supplier prints a second figure for the thin builds, 53.2 by 46.5 in (135 by 118 cm) with 7.5 in (19 cm) flaps. Check the option name against those two numbers.
What do the F numbers mean?
They are the supplier's own build codes and they carry no size meaning. The words after the code are the real difference: full surround against thin, zip against no zip, pocket, mesh, print, reinforced base.
Can I see him from the front?
Yes, through the mesh panel in the upper section. That panel is on most builds but not all; the option names that say net, mesh or paw print tell you which.
What holds it to the seats?
Headrest loops at four points, side-release buckles on the flaps, and two moulded anchors pressed into the seat crease.
Does it stop him being thrown about?
No. It is a seat cover. It is not a restraint and it is not tested for any impact.
What are the reinforced-base builds for?
Two options add stiff panels under the floor section, three in one and eight in the other, so the surface does not sag into the footwell. The supplier publishes no load figure for either, so we do not quote one.
What is it filled with?
PP cotton, between the two coated Oxford layers. The supplier lists the fibre content of the shell at 71 to 80 per cent.
